When I saw the posting for an Activity Manager with Indiana Masonic Home, Inc., I was very excited because I am positive that I am the best person for this job. I have worked as an Activity Manager for the last three years and I found it to be an extremely rewarding career. It is very satisfying to help others stay physically active because it is such an important part of staying healthy.
My duties consisted of dealing with each person on an individual basis to determine their physical abilities and limitations and then creating an activity plan suited for each individual. This requires great listening skills along with an understanding of each person’s medical history. I am certified as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, so I possess this type of knowledge.
My job duties also included recruiting, hiring and training staff members to assist in carrying out the responsibilities associated with the Activities department. It also included making sure that all staff members performs their duties in such a way that they met or exceeded expectation. I was also responsible for the personal safety of each person in our program and have an excellent record for running an efficient department.
